Coffee Bean forever [Jul. 11th, 2004|05:37 pm]
So I drove all the way down to Irvine this afternoon, just for Coffee Bean. Okay, not just for Coffee Bean. I love visiting the city. So many memories there... and I love the feeling of nostalgia. Anyway, I tried their ice blended drinks for the first time. Had a Black Forest… I took a sip and was afraid my knees might buckle. It’s by far the best thing I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. Go try it!

This glass house is burning down
You light the match, I'll stick around
I'll give you everything you want
And wish the worst of what I was

For the first time in my life [Jul. 10th, 2004|01:46 am]
Being under 21 is REALLY starting to become a nuisance. It’s screwing up all sorts of shows that I want to go to. It’s making it impossible to hang out on weekends. Bah. I can legally smoke, but not drink. Isn’t the former supposed to be worse for you? Besides, I don’t even care to drink. I just want access to the clubs/bars.

Oh yeah… the new TBS album is amazing. Go buy it on July 27!

I... [Jun. 22nd, 2004|09:46 pm]
Officially give up.

I'm nice and mellow... and even that gets me in trouble.

Like I said, I give up.

Red Letter Days [Jun. 16th, 2004|01:31 am]
The Wallflowers. The best rock n' roll band I'll ever live to see. Was there ever any doubt?

I can't believe how lucky I was to be at both shows. I even was treated to an acoustic version of Hand Me Down the first night. Jakob Dylan is god. No no... if god ever picked up a guitar, he'd be Jakob Dylan.

Tomorrow night is Home Town Hero at the Troubadour. Totally different type of music, but they still rock my socks. Jeff is coming with. As Drew said about the show, knee brace (???).

I've given up on Kroq. Go look at their most played list online. The only song I'd be caught dead listening to is by The Postal Service... at #20. I didn't even go to the Weenie Roast this year. Bloody hell, I think we're in for the modern version of the Hair Band Era. Modest Mouse and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs can kiss off.

I am thinking it's a sign that the freckles
In our eyes are mirror images and when
We kiss they're perfectly aligned
And I have to speculate that God himself
Did make us into corresponding shapes like
Puzzle pieces from the clay
True, it may seem like a stretch, but
Its thoughts like this that catch my troubled
Head when you're away when I am missing you to death

Awesome day, but... [Jun. 12th, 2004|09:13 am]
Don't watch The Stepford Wives, unless you want to be thoroughly weirded out.

Looong weekend [Jun. 6th, 2004|08:37 pm]
Time to recap the weekend. Parents were out of town. Took full advantage.

Jose and I went to the Angel game on Thursday night. We saw one of our favorite pitchers have the worst game of his career. It’s okay though, because the drunks in our section were fun to watch. Friday was slow. Played baseball for a few hours in the afternoon and washed my car. It got dark, so I had to wait until the next morning to finish.

Woke up early on Saturday morning and finished cleaning my car, then changed and headed over to the EverythingCelica meet. I didn’t know what to expect, but it was awesome! Talking face-to-face with everyone after a year on the boards was a cool experience. By the end, there were upwards of 30 Celi’s there. Can’t wait to get all of the pictures back.

Jetted off from the meet at four. Had just enough time to change into my suit (pink tie power) and make it to the JAT/GLAJAS banquet. I was surprised to learn that we actually had won Team High Game for the season with a 765. BS’ed around there until 10, then Kevin had the idea of hitting up Casino Morongo. I’d wanted to go for a while, but I hadn’t planned to go that late at night… while wearing a suit.

Ken and I took my car and followed Kevin and Aprille out there. It took damn near an hour and a half. It’s an odd experience to legally gamble in a casino. Playing $5-$25 hands of Black Jack, I managed fluctuate between being way up and damn near broke. During my last hand, I was down to just $2.50 in my hand and the $25 in chips on the table. Thank god I won… actually went home a few bucks ahead. All of us are thinking about going back again this week.

Finally walked in my door after 4am. Got everything ready for the morning, then had a nice hour and a half of sleep before leaving for JAT. Managed to make cut there, then fall apart in match play because of my elbow. Got home at three and napped.

I drove somewhere in the 400 mile range this weekend… now I must rest…. -_-

Long weekends rock [May. 30th, 2004|02:54 am]
Four days off, how sweet it is. The only thing even close to work will be the State Farm tailgate party, right before the Angels game Tuesday. Whatever though... free baseball tickets!

And yes, I have reverted back to livejournal.
